PLU Groups separate sales stock items into similar groups.  This is important when it comes to search options at Point of Sale, and also for assessing actual gross profit percentages against targets for groups of similar items.  The user can also set several defaults against the PLU Group to assist when creating new PLU's in the group.  Defaults such as Revenue Groups, Order Printing Groups, Tax ID and Modifier Types can be set against the group so each new PLU created will pick up these settings and minimise data entry errors.  PLU Groups are also used for reporting on Sales Stock Items.

 

PLU Group numbering follows the H&L Recommended Numbering Guide to work in conjunction with the Auto Numbering Feature.

 

Procedure

  1. From the Sysnet Toolbar click on the Stock icon
  2. Click on the MAINTENANCE dropdown menu followed by GROUPS and PLU GROUPS
  3. Click (+) to add a new PLU Group
  4. Enter a PLU Group Number and Name
  5. Enter the TAX ID (compulsory)
  6. Additional information added against the PLU Group is selected as required
  7. Set the Auto Numbering Range or "Increment by" options as required
  8. Tick to save
  9. Repeat to add all remaining PLU Groups
  10. Click on <RETURN TO STOCK> to close the PLU Groups window
