About

The Transaction Server (or Trans Server) is responsible for recording every transaction processed through each station in a venue.  It is also the control point for kitchen printing which will stop if Transaction Server is not operational.  The Trans Server is also responsible for approving Member and Debtor Transactions, and Table Functions along with time switch activation for processes such as End of Shift, Day, Week, Process Sales Specials etc.

POS Terminals such as Exceed and Sinch communicate directly with the Transaction Server.

The Transaction Server application MUST be running at all times, however in Sysnet Versions 7.1.1 and greater, a new service "POS Controller Service" was implemented to replace the Trans Server application.  This service runs in the back ground meaning the application is not required and means users can't accidentally close the application.

What you'll see on Trans Server

• Trans Server has a white background and general trace information is written in black
• All transactions are written in black
• Errors stand out by being written in red
• When End of Period processes are being run (such as End of Shift) the screen will appear in orange with the message "Server Locked"
