Hints on Using Sales Specials

Time Switch

Make sure a time switch type of "Process Sales Specials" is created in the Utilities Menu. Set this for a time before trade begins.
Only one "Process Sales Specials" time switch is required as this acts as the trigger each day to activate and deactivate accordingly.
If any locations using Sales Specials have Versaterm Point of Sale Terminals a "Download Versaterm" time switch should be set after the Sales Special Time switch is complete

Remember to set the END DATE of the promotion to the day after the last day of the sale, to ensure the special is not cut short by a day
A Sales Special can be activated without a Time Switch by selecting the <PROCESS SALES SPECIAL> button in the Sales Special menu
This button is used to activate and deactivate specials manually
Items in an active sales special will be flagged in the PLU DETAIL screen against the specified price level to alert the user
A report will print to the system printer at the beginning and end of the promotion. This is to confirm the promotion has been activated/deactivated and lists all items included in the promotion
The report generated at the end of the promotion is useful to analyse it's success as it details the items sold

Items on special can appear in a different colour in the current sales window on Exceed POS terminals
On the Exceed terminal click on the SETUP menu followed by the <STATION DETAILS> button
Select the desired colour against the SPECIAL field
Perform a <RESET & DOWNLOAD> against the terminal
Items will now appear in the sales grid with the selected colour if included in an active sales special
