Procedure

Proximity Wrist Bands prove to be the most secure way of accessing a Versaterm.  Simply 'wave' the wrist band over the Proximity Reader (which should be attached to the Versaterm) and the user will be logged on.  As CLERK keys are not required, more keyboard space becomes available to be used for sale items.

For this method of logging on to function properly, it is important that all station settings are set correctly:

  1. From the Sysnet Toolbar click on the Utilities icon
  2. Click on the <STATIONS> tab
  3. Highlight the desired STATION from the list and enable both the "CLERKS" and "SINGLE CLERK MODE" check boxes at the bottom of the screen
  4. Tick to save the settings and repeat with any other Versaterm Stations using wristbands
  5. Go to the Communication Server application and perform a download on all applicable Versaterms

Proximity Wrist Bands are not just limited to point of sale security.  With the addition of the "Door Control - Keyless Entry System" to H&L's product range, wrist bands can be used for general in-house security.  Proximity Readers are attached to entry points allowing entrance to only those with access rights.  This product is mainly used for restricted areas such as store rooms and staff rooms.  For more information on this product, please contact your local H&L Representative.
