The POS Controller is the service based version of the Transaction Server.  It runs in the background rather than the Trans Server which is application based and must remain open at all times on the Server PC.  The big advantage of this service is that windows does not need to remain logged on which allows greater security.  The POS Controller service is responsible for recording every transaction processed through each station in a venue.  It is also the control point for kitchen printing which will halt if the POS Controller Service is stopped.  The POS Controller is also responsible for approving Member and Debtor Transactions, and Table Functions along with time switch activation for processes such as End of Shift, Day, Week, Process Sales Specials etc.  

 

POS Terminals such as Exceed and Sinch communicate directly with the POS Controller Service.

 

Viewing Data

The Trans Server application allows the user to view all transactional and trace data information via the application itself.  When POS Controller Service is installed, an application called Log Viewer is then used to view this information.

 

The POS Controller Service can also be STOPPED and STARTED from the Log Viewer application
