The recipe function is used for items which decrement more than one inventory item. Recipes can be created as a base or first level recipe for example Cocktails, Shooters and Beer Mixes. Recipes can also be used for complete food costing which involves different tiers of recipes.
In food recipe costing, base recipes will form the building blocks for other recipes, until the final plated recipe is in place. There are two different types of recipes:
Recipe (Sales Based) |
Stock item which contains multiple ingredients which will be sold and decremented for the purposes of stock control |
Recipe (Production Based) |
Stock item which contains multiple ingredients and will usually form part of other recipes and may not be sold directly at the POS. These types of recipes are produced on site by the venue and entered accordingly into the system for the purposes of stock control. Production based recipes are most commonly used for kitchen first tier recipes for example, curry sauces, toppings, pasta sauces etc. |
