About

Ranges are useful for stock items in a certain price bracket.  The sell price for all products in a range can be updated at once instead of each price individually.  Examples of ranges can be 500ml, 1.25l or 2l bottles of soft drink etc.

Search keys can also be set by Range on the Exceed Point of Sale terminal.  This can be useful in the instance where a large number of items belong to the same group for order printing purposes, however the ability to create a sub category i.e. Range can be useful for searching on the POS terminal. For example, all white wine bottles belong to the same PLU group but Ranges can be created for varieties e.g. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris etc, and programmed as search keys on the POS.
