About
The Problem Stock report is designed to show the exceptions and highlight
problems with certain groups of stock items. It highlights stock
meeting the criteria entered based on stock on hand value, GP %, discrepancies
& wastage and days on hand. The report contains a number of
different options to quickly pinpoint problem areas.
Getting the Report
The Problem Stock Report can be found in two ways:
- Sysnet Toolbar
> Reports menu > Stock > Problem Stock
- Sysnet Toolbar
> Stock menu > Reports > Stock > Problem Stock
Filtering the Report
The Problem Stock report contains a number of filtering options including:
- Report by Period
- Group by Location or Consolidated Locations
- Show or Hide Zero Sales Quantity
- Advanced filter criteria can then be applied to
show ranges in Values in Stock, Actual GP %, Discrepancies and Wastage,
and Days on Hand
Hints on Reading the Report
- AVERAGE COST
INNER = the average cost ex GST per inner
- LAST COST PER
INNER = the last cost ex GST per inner
- QTY IN STOCK
= the current
quantity of stock items (based on inners) on hand regardless of the
reporting period selected
- VALUE IN STOCK
= Qty in Stock * Average Cost Inner
- SALES QTY FOR
PERIOD = the total quantity of items sold for the period under
review
- SALES $ FOR PERIOD
= Sales Qty for Period * Retail Value (ex GST) for the period under
review
- EXPECTED GP %
= Value Sold - Cost of Sales / Value Sold * 100
- DISCREPANCY LOST/FOUND
FOR PERIOD = the total quantity of wastage/discrepancies (based
on inners) for the period under review
- GP % =
Value Sold - Cost of Sales / Value Sold * 100
- AVG DAY SALES
QTY = Sales Qty for Period / Number of Days selected for the
reporting period
- DAYS ON HAND
= Qty in Stock / Sales Qty for Period * Number of Days selected for
the report
What is the Problem Stock Report Useful For?
- To quickly identify problem stock items
- To assist with stock ordering by using the "days
on hand" filter and ensure there are no excess stock levels without
regular movement. This means less of a liability for the venue
- To identify items not counted (highlighted by negative
quantities)
- Comparing lost and found quantities by applying
the Wastage and Discrepancies filter
When Should the Problem Stock Report be Used?
- When manual ordering is performed using the "days
on hand" filter
- H&L recommend using this report on monthly
or even quarterly basis to assist in the business. It is a powerful
tool to highlight exactly where the problems exist with stock so they
can be addressed as soon as possible.
